The Rules of Enchantment The Rules of Enchantment by Wendy Tardieu
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Thank you to Maria at tckpublishing for reaching out to me. I have reviewed this for free but this did not sway my review in anyway.

The story opens up with Headmaster Wickham telling a vision that was given to him about the land being taken over by “Master Leith” that has been banished for 4 years. Headmaster calls on Rowan to pursue Kyler, one his scribes, to go face Master Leith. Rowan pleaded to let him go instead but after giving in and being told that Kyler is to go, out true story begins. I loved seeing how Rowan grew to be amazed at the power that Kyler had. After spending much time with her, this is where their feeling arose. However, this was not as erotic and the book cover describes. It did have one good scene that pretty steamy but other than that, it was not erotic. So it is a good start for someone who does not want a heavy erotic book all the way through.

I love the story of Rowan and Kyler and I think the author did a great job. I do wish we had more story of them with more build up but with the story being as short as it is, the author did a good job.

The world building was great. It was very easy to follow in the story and in the beginning of the book I feel it left you with a great feel of the division between both lands.

I am not clear if this is a stand alone or if it will be a series but if there are other books in this series, I will continue with their story.
