Review: Stalking Jack the Ripper

Stalking Jack the Ripper Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is was a new book for me. I don't normally listen to Historical Fiction but this has set a new found love for it.

I loved this book.

This book follows the acts of Jack the Ripper that was set in 1888. This book was so detailed that I actually began to Google the story of Jack the Ripper and to my surprise this was following his time line in 1888. Yet there are some fictional characters and actions to elaborate the story, I still love this book.

Audrey Rose was so fun to read about. Not only did we follow the story of Jack the Ripper but also a love story between Audrey and Thomas. The love story was not over done and did no way take away from the story line of this book.

This book kept you guessing until the end as who Jack the Ripper truly is. Kerri Maniscalco became a favorite author for me. So far this has hit one of my 2018 favorite reads.

Review: Hell House

Mar 15, 2018

Hell House Hell House by Richard Matheson
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this book very much in the first part, but about half way through this book it turned into something that was very adult. I got uncomfortable at times even listening to this book by myself.

I understood the story line and Richard's writing was very well done but I was just surprised where the book went. Other than that, I enjoyed the book. It did have very creepy aspects to it and very much a haunted house them to it. He did great on describing the visual aspects of the house.

Another thing, I am a huge animal lover and there is a point in the book where there is death to a cat, but it was only about 2 lines and no details were given as to how it happened. I am against animal cruelty so I would not have been able to finish the book if it would have given details.

Do not let any child under 17 read this. I would not even let a 14 or 15 year read this. It is very adult.

I rated this book 3 stars because of the amount adult activity in this book and due to mid way through the book it began to slow down.
