Freeks Freeks by Amanda Hocking
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was so excited to start this book. I love a good carnival book and this one did not let me down.

The story starts with the crew of "FREEKS" headed to Caudry to set up for 10 days. They were told if the carnival would come for 10 days they would get a great pay at the end of 10 days. But as the crew got closer to Caudry things did not feel right. Things began to happen. They began to loose their powers and they were being stalked on nightly basics leaving several of the members hospitalized. Many wanted to leave for safety but others wanted to stay so they could have the money.

Their is a love story that unfold in the book that I loved.

Once upon arrival, Blossom went missing. Blossom was a young girl that was part of the carnival. This was my issue with the book and why I gave it 4 stars. Blossom goes missing the first day and no one goes looking for her or contacts the police to report her missing. They just assume she is in the next town over. (FOR 10 DAYS???) with no contact from her. The author could have added a little story line where at least she was included in the story and where the police were looking for her but the police were being threated in they actual reported her found but this "Family".

I don't want to put spoilers on here but I loved the paranormal concept of this book. I did predict some of the ending the closer the end got. But even know what was going to happen I still really enjoyed this book.

There is a lot of bloody aspects in this book, witchcraft, and magic aspects to it. I just wish the story of Blossom would have been told better.

Review: Unhinged

Unhinged Unhinged by A.G. Howard
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This book did not meet my expectations. I loved book one but this book was a let down. I laid it down several times for days and then would pick it back up just making myself finish it. It took me over a month to finish this book because of laying it down so many times.

The story line did not draw me in. I felt like it way to long to get the story of wonderland. I understand where the author was going but it took a long time to get there.

I am not sure if I want to continue with the rest of the series. I do own them, so if anyone knows if this series gets better in the next book, let me know. There are so many other books out there that I want to read. I have to DNF a series but I am learning I have to do that.

I Know Who Did It I Know Who Did It by Stephen Leather
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was the first time I listened to one Stephen Leather books. I opted for the audio book since it was so short. Only about an 1 and half in audio.

I found that I really enjoyed this book. It is a story about a girl that was claimed to have committed suicide. After 40 years the sister hired someone to find out the true events that lead up to the death of her sister. Little did they know, they would be unleashing a demon. Will they sell their own soul to find the answer?

Review: Peril in the Old Country

Feb 13, 2018

Peril in the Old Country Peril in the Old Country by Sam Hooker
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was given this book by Black Spot Books in exchange for an honest review.

I thought this was a such a cute book. I loved the book from the moment I picked it up. If you are looking for something that will make you make laugh and have some not so heavy moments, this book will be for you.

Sloot Peril has had his whole life planned and throughout the book, you watch as Sloot starts doing things completely out of his planned out life style. Then when he was asked to correct a financial report, things for Sloot start changing. He is now doing things he thought would never do.

Sloot had no idea was about to happen around him. Between all the undead and secret societies going on, he met the lovely Myrtle. She may have just put a smile on his face, but you will have to read the book for this story! NO SPOILERS.

The author did a great job describing the evolving of Sloot from the beginning to the end of this book.

Oh and lets not forget our spy, Roman. Loved Roman. He was one of my favorites in the story.

The question is done Mrs. Knife want Sloot dead?

I would highly suggest this book!
